Southwest District Health needed a way for employees across the organization to create their own marketing materials without every flyer, social post, and handout slowly wandering away from the brand.
So we built them a system.
More freedom. Fewer rogue fonts.
We created more than 100 customizable Canva templates designed to make everyday marketing easier for the SWDH team.
The templates needed to be simple enough for non-designers to use, flexible enough to accommodate a wide range of public health information, and structured enough to keep everything feeling unmistakably SWDH.
The result was a library of practical, ready-to-use tools that gave employees more independence without sacrificing brand consistency.
Making public health a little more human.
Photography isn't always the right tool, particularly when you're communicating complex, sensitive, or abstract health topics.
We partnered with an illustrator whose range gave SWDH a more flexible visual language, allowing the organization to communicate ideas that would have been difficult, awkward, or downright impossible to capture with stock photography.
The illustrations brought warmth, personality, and consistency to materials across the organization.
And then there was the annual report.
What began as a straightforward annual report became an opportunity to rethink how a very information-heavy document could feel.
Instead of treating it like a stack of statistics wearing a nice cover, we approached it more like a publication.
Strong typography, thoughtful pacing, photography, illustration, charts, and graphic elements helped turn dense information into something easier to navigate and considerably more interesting to look at.
The final result was a vibrant, magazine-style report that gave SWDH's accomplishments the presentation they deserved.
The good stuff.
More than 100 customizable templates, a flexible illustration system, a more useful way for employees to work within the brand, and an annual report that people might actually want to read.
Turns out, practical and pretty can get along just fine.
